Is a graduate of Lincoln University, Jefferson City, Missouri where he was privileged to study under the late James Dallas Parks.  Mr. Powell spent the majority of his career as an art teacher in the Kansas City, Missouri School District. 

Mr. Powell's art has been displayed at: the Ethnic Art Gallery; the Central Exchange Gallery; Bruce R. Watkins Cultural Heritage Center; The American Jazz Museum's Changing Gallery; Rockhurst College's Thomas Moore Center, where he was Artist in Residence for one year; The Kansas City Jewish Museum/Epstein Galley and the University of Missouri-Kansas City's Ethnic Cultural Center to name a few. Mr. Powell's art is part of numerous private collections including The Sprint Collection. He has also successfully participated in various art competitions throughout the nation.

 

 

A Kansas City native, excelled as the youngest of nine siblings by using her gift of artistic expression.  It was her family that first recognized her works for what would grow to become contemporary pieces of divinely inspired craftsmanship.

While pursuing her degree in fine arts from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, MO, Ms. Brown was nominated "Most Outstanding Undergraduate Painter."  Her artwork now encompasses paintings, portrait designs, murals, graphic illustrations, framing and sign art. 

Ms. Brown's large oil paintings are displayed in corporate offices around the world.  Her paintings are symbolic of Kansas City's blues, jazz and urban heritage.  Ms. Brown's work has been exhibited at: Bruce R. Watkins Cultural Heritage Center; 18th Street Studio; Brookside Art Fair; UMKC and CMSU.  Her art is heralded nationally and in various African nations and Russia.

Signs her work "Roni" is a self-taught artist who was born in Los Angeles.  She believes that God has blessed her with a gift to express herself through art.  Ms. Sublett is an elementary school teacher who prays every day that she will be able to make a difference, not only in the lives of her students, but also in the world around her.  Her goal is to celebrate the African American experience by creating fine quality art that allows us to look at and understand from where we have come and where we must go. 

Ms. Sublett's works are part of many private collections as well as having been featured in several galleries, shows, and exhibits throughout the country including: William Jewel College, Liberty, Missouri; The Portfolio Gallery, St. Louis, Missouri;  Homer's Coffee House, Overland Park, Kansas; The American Jazz Museum, Kansas City, Missouri;  The Vaughn Cultural Center, St. Louis, Missouri; The 18th Street Studio, Kansas City, Missouri and the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
